Transfer Academy for Student Success

The Transfer Academy for Student Success (TASS) is a flagship initiative at the University of Houston–Downtown designed to empower and bolster transfer students as they transition into a four-year university environment. Recognizing that about 65% of UHD’s degree-seeking undergraduates begin as transfer students, TASS offers a comprehensive, supportive framework to ease that leap.

  TASS provides one-on-one support through dedicated success coaches who understand the transfer experience. These relationships help students set clear goals, navigate academic challenges, and integrate into campus life more smoothly.
• Tailored Support
  Through enhanced engagement with UHD’s Gator Success Institute, TASS delivers structured academic support, bridging gaps and offering resources designed specifically for transfer students.
• Strategic Focus on Completion & Career Readiness
  The initiative aligns with the broader mission of SSAP 2.0: improving student persistence and helping them complete credentials that lead to meaningful labor-market outcomes. By offering proactive guidance and resources, TASS seeks to remove barriers that often derail transfer students’ progress.
