The annual LatinFest, sponsored and hosted by the Center for Latino Studies (CLS) will bring together students, faculty, alumni, and the broader Near Northside community for a celebration of cultural heritage, the arts, and culinary inheritance from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, in room A300 of the Academic Building.

This year's event will feature Alvaro Carrasco's Ballet Folklórico Bolivia, showcasing the fusion of Spanish and Indigenous influences that have shaped Bolivian music and dance traditions.

The celebration will also highlight UHD talent, including Mariachi Áayin, directed by Arts and Communication Professor David Moreno and featuring UHD student Aliah Meza, a sophomore Education major, and faculty member Dr. Dailey.

UHD alumnus Gerardo Vega (BS, Criminal Justice, '25) will return to campus with Conjunto Rebelde de la H, closing the festival with a performance rooted in the Norteño musical tradition.

The festival also draws on the contributions of 38 UHD student volunteers from across the disciplines.

Attendees can also experience culinary traditions from across Latin America and the Caribbean, including Mexican pollo poblano, Salvadoran pupusas, sweet plantains, paletas, and Bolivian pastelitos.
