Texas Talent Connection: Bridging STEM Workforce 2026-2027

What will this STEM Bridge Program offer you?

The UHD Bridging STEM Workforce will offer you an intensive, a training program focusing on academic/workforce training and STEM research/mentorship providing you the needed foundation for entrance into a university program and/or industry employment by building workforce targeted needs today along with certificate training and testing, thus improving your credentials.

  • Community college students
  • Current workforce already working in career area
  • UHD undergraduates (junior/senior)

Summer Intensive Certificate/Research Program

Dates: July 5 - 23, 2027
Time: 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Training workshop themes will include topics such as:

  • Resume development
  • SAT prep/academic tutoring
  • Interview techniques, dress for success, verbal-non-verbal success techniques and using GCWB web tools for employment and internship acquisition
  • Cover letter development
  • Research poster development for presentations
  • Searching for the right fit university
  • Career investigation and career goal setting

*Note: you must have own transportation

Who is eligible?

  • High school students
  • Community college/City college students
  • UHD undergraduates

Fall/Spring Semester UHD Undergraduate Research/Certification Program

  • Eligible participants are assigned a UHD Co-PI from Sept-Dec 2026 and from Jan - May 2027
  • Meet 6-10 hrs per week for training in certification area
  • Certificate Testing 3 times per semester
